Finch Story
Nearly a century ago, under the shadow of royal courts in Calcutta (now Kolkata), India, the ancestors of the Pirjha family embarked on a journey of craftsmanship destined to outlast empires. Working alongside esteemed Iranian artisans, they shaped not only fine furniture, but a noble tradition—an art passed quietly from hand to hand, heart to heart. Their creations, crafted for the Maharaja’s palace, were born of patience, mastery, and a deep reverence for beauty.
Guided by divine blessing, they migrated to Chiniot, Pakistan, in the early 1920s. There, their hands continued what their hearts had carried—refining wood into heirlooms, carving meaning into every detail. In Chiniot, the Pirjha name grew into a symbol of integrity and excellence in craftsmanship, woven into the very cultural fabric of the city.
The Pirjha family became one of Chiniot’s most revered names in traditional furniture-making. Among them, Elahi Baksh Pirjha, Khuda Buksh Pirjha, and Raheem Baksh Pirjha stood as true masters of the art—leaving behind a legacy not only in wood, but in the hearts of all who encountered their work.
Their finest craftsmanship lives on in the Omar Hayat Palace, a grand architectural gem whose intricate woodwork—crafted between 1923 and 1935—bears the unmistakable mark of their genius. These masterpieces remain preserved to this day, whispering the story of a family's devotion to their craft.
Now, generations later, we humbly carry this legacy forward. At Finch Craft & Co, we honor our ancestors not just by continuing the work they began, but by preserving the values they held dear: patience, precision, humility, and pride in honest craftsmanship. In every piece we create, you will find the echo of their hands and the soul of their legacy.
This is not just furniture. It is our heritage—shaped by time, tradition, and love. Passed from one generation to the next.
